Where: Sun Country Sports Center (333 SW 140th Terr. in Jonesville—west Gainesville near Tioga)

When: Wednesday, Jan. 20

What time: 7-8:30 p.m.

Cost:  Members - $10 in advance, $13 at door; Non-members - $15 in advance, $18 at door
(20 person limit.  Must prepay by 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19.)

We are pleased to announce ACEL’s first fundraiser for the Champions for Charity kickball tournament: Rockwall Dodgeball!

How does it work?

Teams of two (one belayer, one player) work together to hit the opposing team with 13 dodgeballs, while dodging the balls thrown at them by their opponents. Only those people on a rope (aka “belayers”) can throw.  Balls can only be thrown at others on a rope. Rules will be explained in detail at the event.

Do I have to know how to climb?

No. Being comfortable being in a harness on a rope is helpful, however.

Do I need to know how to belay?

YES!  Please get belay certified at Sun Country at least 24 hours before the tournament.  Belay certification is free of charge and can be done any time the wall is open.  We encourage people who are not regular climbers to refresh their belay skills prior to Jan 20.
